DFB Upholds Sanctions Against Dynamo Dresden Over April Pitch Violence

The ruling enforces stadium block closures, fines, personalized ticket controls, joint security plans to protect spectator safety.

Overview

  • The DFB-Bundesgericht, which ruled Friday, rejected Dynamo Dresden’s appeal and confirmed the disciplinary measures first ordered in May and June.
  • Dynamo must keep standing blocks K1–K5 closed for the first home match on 16 August against Darmstadt and pay a €91,200 fine while Hertha BSC was earlier fined €152,000.
  • For the next two Dresden–Hertha fixtures away ticket allocations will be halved and every away ticket must be personalized, and both clubs must draw up a joint security concept.
  • The court left an additional partial block suspension on probation, and DFB chair Oskar Riedmeyer said firing pyrotechnics at people and mass pitch incursions are an unacceptable danger and interference with competition.
  • Dynamo says it will review the full written reasoning, is weighing further legal steps, and has urged supporters not to resell tickets on secondary markets as the club considers its options.
