Overview
- On June 15 at Dortmund’s Deutsches Fußballmuseum, the draw was broadcast live on ZDF with sprinter Owen Ansah serving as the draw assistant.
- The draw divided 64 teams into two pots: the Profitopf for elite sides and the Amateurtopf for lower-league qualifiers.
- The Profitopf comprises the 18 Bundesliga clubs and the top 14 finishers from the 2. Bundesliga.
- The Amateurtopf contains the remaining four 2. Bundesliga teams, the four highest-ranked 3. Liga sides, and 24 regional cup winners.
- First-round matches are scheduled for August 15–18, the final will take place on May 23, 2026, at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, and the winner will earn a €4.3 million prize.
