Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: Celebrating Lord Vishnu's Awakening

Devotees across India commemorate the spiritual significance of Lord Vishnu's awakening with fasting and rituals.

Dev Uthani Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, marks the end of Lord Vishnu's four-month slumber during the Chaturmas period.
The festival is celebrated on November 12, 2024, with the Ekadashi Tithi starting on the evening of November 11 and ending on the afternoon of November 12.
Devotees observe a fast starting at sunset on the day before Ekadashi, breaking it the next morning after the Hari Vasara period ends.
The occasion is particularly significant for followers of Vaishnavism, symbolizing a time of spiritual renewal and divine blessings.
In addition to religious observances, the day is auspicious for weddings, with approximately 50,000 ceremonies expected in Delhi-NCR alone.
