Overview
- Deutz announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement to acquire FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau for roughly €1.6 billion with part of the price paid in newly issued Deutz shares.
- Under the terms, the current FFG owner family will hold a 29.9 percent stake in Deutz after the transaction closes.
- The takeover still requires approval by Deutz’s annual general meeting and clearance from competition authorities and is expected to close in late 2026 or early 2027 if those approvals are obtained.
- If completed, the deal would immediately add about 1,100 FFG employees and €760 million of 2025 revenue to Deutz and could accelerate Deutz’s target to grow its sales toward higher levels by 2030.
- FFG builds, maintains and modernizes infantry fighting vehicles and personnel carriers for customers including the Bundeswehr, and the acquisition follows Deutz’s recent defence-related buys as German suppliers consolidate and expand their military work.
