Deutsche Telekom Launches Standalone 5G for Gamers

Telekom introduces 5G Standalone technology for private customers, initially focusing on enhanced mobile gaming experiences.

Deutsche Telekom now offers 5G Standalone (5G SA) to private customers, previously available only to select business clients.
The initial rollout is a gaming add-on, free until April 2025, providing a seamless gaming experience through stable, low-latency connections.
Currently, only users with the Galaxy S24 Ultra can access this 5G SA service, with plans to expand compatibility to more devices soon.
Telekom's 5G SA network is presently limited to cities like Bonn, Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Stuttgart, with nationwide availability expected by early 2025.
Competitors O2 and Vodafone have already made 5G SA available to their customers nationwide, offering similar enhancements for online gaming and virtual reality applications.
