Deutsche Post to Increase Letter and Postcard Rates to 95 Cents in 2025

The price hike, driven by inflation and declining mail volumes, awaits final approval from the Bundesnetzagentur.

From January 1, 2025, the cost of sending a standard letter or postcard within Germany will rise to 95 cents, pending regulatory approval.
The Bundesnetzagentur has provisionally set a price increase limit of 10.5% for postal services, which Deutsche Post has applied across various mail categories.
In addition to letters and postcards, the cost of other mail services, such as compact and international letters, will also see increases.
Deutsche Post cites inflation, rising wages, and a decrease in mail volume as reasons for the necessary price adjustments.
Customers will need to use additional stamps to meet the new rates, but existing stamps will remain valid for future use.
