Overview

  • From August 1 to 18, Deutsche Bahn will renew overhead lines and tracks on the RosenheimSalzburg and RosenheimKufstein routes with regional buses provided by Bayerische Regiobahn.
  • Long-distance services to Vienna will be largely rerouted via Passau until August 11 while many MunichVenedig and Munich–Bologna connections will be suspended thereafter.
  • Between August 22 and September 12, all RE 9, RB 90, RB 93, S 12 and S 19 trains on the Siegstrecke will be replaced by buses and IC services between Dortmund/Münster and Frankfurt will not call at Siegen.
  • The works include rehabilitation of the Rosbach railway bridge, tunnel inspections and switch renewals to support a 2026 Rhine bank rehabilitation project.
  • Passengers are urged to consult updated timetables and alternative routes as punctuality improvements on these overburdened lines are the main short-term goal.
