Overview

• The 29-kilometer Cottbus–Lübbenau section will be fully closed from the end of 2026 for about one year to construct a second track.
• Deutsche Bahn expects trains to begin using the new second track by the end of 2027.
• Replacement transport will be provided for travelers during the yearlong shutdown.
• Works include new overhead lines and signalling, adaptations at 12 level crossings, and the widening of six bridges and 18 culverts.
