Deutsche Bahn Schedules Weeks of Closures on Würzburg–Treuchtlingen Line Starting Oct. 10

Replacement buses will cover gaps during bridge works, with Gunzenhausen set for a barrier‑free rebuild.

Overview

  • From Oct. 10 to Dec. 13, the roughly 30‑kilometre Würzburg–Marktbreit section will be closed to traffic.
  • All train service on the full 140‑kilometre Würzburg–Treuchtlingen route will be suspended Oct. 17–26.
  • No trains will run between Ansbach and Treuchtlingen on Nov. 1–2, according to Deutsche Bahn.
  • Gunzenhausen works will disrupt Regionalbahn 62 from Nov. 9–28, with the station planned to be fully accessible by spring 2027.
  • IC pairs 2082/2083 and 2084/2085 are canceled during the works, and weekend tourist trains will be rerouted via Nürnberg with some Augsburg stops omitted.
