Deutsche Bahn Schedules Major Fall Closures on Würzburg–Treuchtlingen Corridor

DB has published a staged plan that pairs bridge repairs with a barrier‑free rebuild at Gunzenhausen.

Overview

  • Disruptions begin 10 October with replacement buses as a roughly 30 km Würzburg–Marktbreit section stays closed through 13 December.
  • All trains on the 140 km Würzburg–Treuchtlingen route will be suspended from 17 to 26 October.
  • Ansbach–Treuchtlingen will face a full shutdown on 1 and 2 November.
  • Works at Gunzenhausen from 9 to 28 November will restrict RB62 services between Pleinfeld, Gunzenhausen and Wassertrüdingen.
  • IC pairs 2082/2083 and 2084/2085 are canceled during the works, and weekend tourist trains will detour via Nürnberg with some Augsburg stops dropped.
