Deutsche Bahn Opens Christmas Travel Sales Wednesday, Offers 12% Early-Bird Discount

Prices remain unchanged under the new timetable, with faster, more frequent ICE links starting 14 December.

Overview

  • Bookings for trips from 14 December and the entire new timetable year open on Wednesday, with tickets available up to 12 months in advance.
  • An extra 12% discount applies to national Sparpreis and Super Sparpreis tickets booked online via the DB website or DB Navigator from 17 to 21 October.
  • Deutsche Bahn confirms no price increases this winter for Flexpreis and Spar categories as well as BahnCards, with seat reservation and cancellation fees unchanged.
  • From 14 December, the timetable adds half-hourly ICE service on corridors such as Berlin–Halle/Erfurt and FrankfurtMannheim/Stuttgart, and shortens travel times on busy routes including BerlinMunich.
  • Spar and Super Sparpreis tickets are train-specific with stricter refunds, with Super Sparpreis non-refundable and Sparpreis refundable until the day before travel for €10.
