Overview

  • The line between Leipzig and Dresden will be closed from June 23 to June 29 for construction between Wurzen and Oschatz.
  • Direct buses will run every two hours between Leipzig and Dresden, taking about two hours and 15 minutes per trip.
  • ICE trains between Wiesbaden and Dresden will terminate in Leipzig during the closure, skipping stops in Riesa and Dresden-Neustadt with bus connections in place.
  • IC services between Hannover and Dresden will operate via an alternative route through Elsterwerda, adding 30 to 60 minutes to journey times and dropping the Riesa stop.
  • Passenger association Pro Bahn had demanded more capacity in the replacement plan and accused Deutsche Bahn of market failure in regional service planning.
