Deutsche Bahn Halts LeipzigDresden Trains During Major Upgrades

Replacement buses for suspended Leipzig–Dresden services will lead to journey delays of up to 90 minutes.

Overview

  • From June 23 to 29 the track section between Dornreichenbach and Dahlen is fully closed for switch renewals, suspending all rail services between Leipzig and Dresden.
  • ICE services on the WiesbadenDresden line will start and end in Leipzig without stops in Riesa or Dresden, with Deutsche Bahn providing bus replacements.
  • IC trains between Hanover and Dresden will operate every two hours via Elsterwerda, shifting arrival and departure times in Dresden by 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Bridge reconstruction in Thuringia from June 26 to July 12 will reroute trains between Leipzig/Halle and Erfurt, extending those journeys by around 20 minutes.
  • Passengers traveling between Leipzig and Munich or on direct FrankfurtHalle routes can expect delays of up to 60 minutes and suspended connections.
