• Long-distance trains ran at 44% capacity in the first four months of 2025, below the 50% goal, even as holiday bookings rose 9% for Himmelfahrt and 4% for Pfingsten.
• Starting June 15, Flexpreis tickets can be cancelled free until one day before travel, reversing a December 2024 policy that imposed fees after eight days.
• From June 15 to July 31, passengers booking Flexpreis fares more than 28 days in advance receive a 20% early-booking discount.
• The Super Sparpreis for journeys of about 100 km will drop to €6.99 from mid-June, with BahnCard holders paying as little as €5.24.
• Additional offers include a €49.99 MyBahnCard 50 for travelers under 27, 100,000 extra Sparpreis seats for seniors until May 31, and a companion fare for BahnCard 50 holders through September.
