Overview
- From 14 December 2025 only two morning ICEs toward Leipzig and three evening ICEs from Dresden will stop in Riesa, with other ICE services running through.
 - DB cites a new timetable that shortens Dresden–Nuremberg/Munich journeys by roughly 30 minutes, supported by a 25‑minute turnaround in Dresden.
 - Local leaders and the passenger group Pro Bahn condemn the plan as a setback for the region and argue the short turnaround is operationally unstable.
 - VVO and DB say Intercity trains will continue to serve Riesa roughly every two hours, and DB estimates about 30 passengers board or alight per ICE in Riesa.
 - Service on the Dresden–Leipzig corridor is currently disrupted after a switch was damaged near Dahlen and an ICE derailed on an empty run near Falkenberg/Elster, leading to cancellations and delays.
