Kahnle posted a 2.11 ERA in 50 appearances for the New York Yankees during the 2024 MLB season, striking out 46 batters over 42 2/3 innings.
Known for his elite changeup, which he threw 73.1% of the time last season, Kahnle brings a unique skill set to Detroit's bullpen.
The Tigers, coming off their first playoff appearance in a decade, aim to bolster their bullpen depth with Kahnle's addition.
In a corresponding move, the Tigers designated right-handed pitcher Alex Faedo for assignment after his 3.61 ERA performance in 2024.
