Detroit Police Ask Public’s Help to Identify Woman Linked to Two Downtown Assaults

A commander described the attacks as unprovoked, with no similar incidents reported since.

  • Two assaults were reported on Sept. 28 in Downtown Detroit, the first near Woodward and John R around 3:30–4 p.m. and the second near Washington and Park just before 8:30 p.m.
  • Police said the victims, ages 23 and 35, were approached and punched by a female suspect in separate incidents with no weapons used.
  • The suspect was described as a white woman who appears to be in her 40s and who left the area in a ride share.
  • Clothing descriptions varied by incident: a blue Detroit Pistons shirt with blue jeans and white tennis shoes earlier, then a tan sweater with blue jeans and white shoes later.
  • Police noted the incidents occurred near the end of the Lions–Browns game by Ford Field, and asked anyone with information to contact the Detroit Police 3rd Precinct or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
