Detroit Man Charged with Murder and Sexual Assault of Missing Teen Na'Ziyah Harris

Prosecutors allege Jarvis Butts killed the 13-year-old because she was pregnant with his child; her body remains missing.

Jarvis Butts, 41, faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and child sexually abusive material in connection to Na'Ziyah Harris's disappearance.
Na'Ziyah Harris, last seen on January 9, 2024, was 13 years old and pregnant at the time of her disappearance.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated that Butts groomed and preyed upon Na'Ziyah, who knew him because he had children with her aunt.
Investigators have found a piece of Na'Ziyah's clothing, indicating a possible struggle, but her remains have not been located despite extensive searches.
Butts, already in jail on separate sexual assault charges, is also accused of sexually abusing two other minors under the age of 13.
