Detroit Man, 68, Charged in Southeast Michigan Bank Robbery Spree

Investigators credit ALPR data plus multiagency coordination for his capture.

Overview

Alvin Myron Murray was charged with bank robbery in Oakland County on Nov. 13 and arraigned Nov. 14 before Judge James Patrick Brennan.
Prosecutors say he is tied to robberies in Ann Arbor and Ferndale, where bank employees reported a Nov. 11 note-demand theft of about $400 with no injuries.
Ferndale police say they arrested him Nov. 13 after working with Ann Arbor police, Southfield police and the Oakland County Gang and Violent Crime Task Force using ALPR technology.
Police also report he allegedly robbed a bank in Mt. Clemens shortly before the Nov. 13 arrest.
He was issued a $250,000 bond, is due back in court Nov. 24, and faces up to life in prison if convicted.
