Detran-RJ Sets 2026 Vehicle Licensing Deadlines by Plate Number

To receive the CRLV-e, drivers must first pay the GRT, IPVA, plus any overdue fines.

Overview

  • Portaria 6.982, published on January 6 in the State Official Gazette, formalizes the 2026 schedule for vehicles registered in Rio de Janeiro.
  • Deadlines: plates 0–2 until May 31, 2026; plates 3–5 until June 30, 2026; plates 6–9 until July 31, 2026.
  • The 2025 license remains valid until each plate group’s cutoff date.
  • The GRT (R$ 293.71) is generated via Bradesco; IPVA is paid by DARJ with issuance available from January 8, and CRLV-e is released only after full payment or all three IPVA installments if parceling.
  • After payments, the CRLV-e can be accessed on the Detran-RJ Digital Post, the CNH do Brasil app, or Senatran’s portal; impediments include unpaid prior debts, pending GNV CSV for gas vehicles, administrative or judicial restrictions, and unaddressed recalls, with optional A4 printout at Detran posts.
