Overview
- Police say a southbound USPS Mercedes-Benz van drifted into northbound lanes on the 1700 block of Mannheim Road just after 10 a.m. Saturday.
- The van struck a 2005 Chrysler Sebring driven by Laurie Jensen, 65, of Mount Prospect, who later died at a hospital.
- The postal driver, identified as Leonard Moore, 48, told officers he temporarily lost control of the vehicle.
- Moore was cited for improper lane usage and is scheduled to appear in Skokie court on Jan. 16, according to police.
- Both drivers were hospitalized, and authorities have not released Moore’s medical condition as the investigation continues.
