Overview
- PC James Wilkinson, 49, of Derbyshire Constabulary has been charged with one count of actual bodily harm.
- The allegation relates to a 17-year-old boy at a residential care home in Chesterfield in the early hours of March 21.
- The IOPC opened an investigation on March 28 after two complaints were referred and sent a file to the CPS on August 21, which then authorised the charge.
- Wilkinson is due to make a first appearance at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on November 6.
- Derbyshire Constabulary says he remains a serving officer but is not currently in a frontline role and will not comment further during court proceedings.
