Overview

• Three separate early-morning incidents between June 2022 and October 2023 saw Murray stab a man, stamp on another’s head and repeatedly knee a third victim in Nottingham city centre.
• In the final attack on October 27, 2023, officers on patrol pursued Murray after spotting him stab a man in Maid Marian Way and tackled him as captured on body-worn cameras.
• Nottingham Crown Court handed Murray a 14-year sentence comprising nine years in custody plus a five-year extended licence following convictions for attempted wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and possession of a bladed article.
• The judge highlighted Murray’s history of violence, including an eight-year sentence in 2016 for stabbing four men outside a Normanton snooker club.
