Overview

• A man being deported to India slipped free from his waist restraint at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 on June 8 and ran across the airfield taxiway near active aircraft.
• Airport staff and police chased and restrained the individual within 90 seconds, preventing any major safety incident.
• Flights experienced only a brief pause and resumed normal operations shortly after the man was detained.
• The detainee was reboarded onto the same flight and deported after his capture.
