Overview

• Two portals—Know Your DIGIPIN and Know Your PIN Code—went live on May 27 and are accessible on India Post’s official website
• DIGIPIN is an open-source, interoperable, geo-coded grid-based digital address system built with IIT Hyderabad and ISRO’s NRSC
• The system is designed to simplify location mapping, improve logistics and emergency response, and ensure reliable last-mile delivery in underserved areas
• Citizens, developers, institutions and other stakeholders can submit feedback on data accuracy and usability through built-in options on both portals
• This participatory approach aligns with the National Geospatial Policy 2022 and sets the stage for future Address-as-a-Service offerings
