Overview

  • On July 23, a 60-foot section of facade and scaffolding at Manny’s Home Furniture on Jericho Turnpike in Bellerose plunged onto the sidewalk and street, injuring a 25-year-old man and two girls aged 11 and 13.
  • The injured parties were treated at North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children’s Medical Center and remain in stable condition.
  • DOB inspectors reported that around 175 linear feet of parapet wall came down and have issued an OATH/ECB violation for failure to maintain the building.
