Denver Hits 83 Degrees, Setting New November Heat Record

Forecasters expect a warm, dry stretch this week that could postpone the city’s first measurable snowfall.

Overview

  • Temperatures at Denver International Airport reached 83°F on Sunday, the city’s hottest November reading on record, according to the National Weather Service.
  • The new mark surpasses the previous November record of 81°F set on Nov. 27, 2017, and breaks the Nov. 2 daily record of 78°F from 2008.
  • Forecasts call for mostly sunny, unseasonably mild conditions through the week with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and no precipitation expected.
  • Denver’s first measurable snow remains overdue, and if none falls by Nov. 14 it would rank as the 10th latest first snowfall on record.
  • Warm, dry air has elevated fire-weather concerns in parts of northeast and north central Colorado under a hazardous weather outlook.
