Overview
- At 10:13 a.m. EDT, the National Weather Service issued a dense fog alert until 12:15 p.m. for Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Alpena, Chippewa, Mackinac and Charlevoix counties.
- Forecasters reported near-zero visibility in parts of northern Lower and eastern Upper Michigan, including stretches of I-75 north of Vanderbilt.
- Earlier dense fog advisories that ran until 9 a.m. EDT for Luce and Schoolcraft counties in Michigan have expired.
- Pennsylvania advisories issued at 4:57 a.m. for Warren, McKean, Huntingdon, Somerset, Bedford, Fulton and Franklin counties were in effect until 9 a.m. local time.
- The weather service urges drivers to slow down, use low-beam headlights, leave extra distance and pull over safely if visibility collapses.
