  • The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for Central Alabama from midnight to 9 a.m. for Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Montgomery, Bullock, Pike and Barbour counties.
  • A separate advisory for South Alabama was posted at 5:57 a.m. and remains in effect until 11 a.m. for Choctaw, Washington, Clarke, Wilcox, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler, Crenshaw, Escambia, Covington, Mobile and Baldwin counties.
  • In Michigan, a dense fog report covered Hillsdale County from 12:23 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. EST.
  • Forecasters say visibility may drop to one quarter mile or less in denser fog patches, with rapid changes over short distances due to the patchy coverage.
  • Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, leave extra following distance, and if visibility nears zero to activate hazard lights and pull into a safe location before stopping.
