Denmark's New King Frederik X Publishes Surprise Book 'Kongeord' Days After Ascension

King Frederik X of Denmark, who ascended to the throne on January 14, 2024, after the surprise abdication of his mother Queen Margrethe II, has published a surprise book titled 'Kongeord' (The King's Word) just three days into his reign.
In the book, King Frederik shares his vision for his role, his thoughts on Denmark's place in the world, and details about his personal life, including his marriage to Australian-born Queen Mary.
The book, which was written in secret with biographer Jens Andersen, sold out hours after its publication, with 25 copies per minute being sold in the hours following its publication.
King Frederik also addresses his Christian faith in the book, emphasizing the role of Christianity in bringing people in Denmark together and his commitment to promoting the green transition and efforts for nature conservation, biodiversity, and countering climate change.
Despite rumors of an affair, King Frederik praises his wife, Queen Mary, in the book, crediting her for grounding him and reminding him that he is not always right just because he is the man in the house.
