• Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen called in U.S. chargé d’affaires Mark Stroh on Wednesday following DR’s report of covert activity on the island.
• DR said at least three U.S. citizens with ties to President Trump sought to weaken Denmark–Greenland ties, including compiling lists of supporters and opponents and cultivating local contacts.
• The broadcaster reported it could not determine whether the Americans acted independently or under direction from U.S. officials.
• Denmark’s security service PET warned Greenland is currently a target for influence campaigns and said it has strengthened monitoring with Greenlandic authorities.
• The U.S. Embassy and White House did not immediately comment, as Denmark and Greenland reiterate that the territory is not for sale and reject outside interference.
