Denmark Announces 28th Ukraine Military Aid Package Worth 1.4 Billion DKK

Copenhagen says the design blends rapid U.S. procurement with NATO logistics to deliver critical capabilities within months.

Overview

  • The government confirmed a new package of roughly $220 million after consultations with the parliamentary foreign policy committee.
  • Allocations include 100 million DKK via the Danish model for Ukraine’s own defense-industrial purchases, 372.2 million DKK for U.S. weapons through the PURL initiative, and 80 million DKK for fuel via NATO’s NSPA.
  • Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said the package will secure critically needed combat capabilities for Ukraine in the coming months and encouraged other countries to contribute via the Danish model.
  • Denmark has earmarked about 2.6 billion DKK for the Danish model in 2025, with roughly 1 billion DKK planned for both 2026 and 2027.
  • With this tranche, Denmark’s cumulative military support for Ukraine surpasses 70 billion DKK, as Russia restated that Western arms shipments could be treated as legitimate targets.
