Shapovalov's victory marks his third ATP career title and his biggest to date, following previous wins in Stockholm (2019) and Belgrade (2022).
The 25-year-old's success comes after a challenging recovery from a knee injury that sidelined him for much of 2023, raising his ATP ranking to No. 32, his highest since September 2023.
Shapovalov credited his aggressive play and team support for his resurgence, expressing optimism about his game returning to peak form.
