Demolition of Unauthorized Spa Pool Building at Captain Tom's Daughter's Home Begins

The building, subject to a failed appeal and named the Captain Tom Foundation Building, is under investigation by the Charity Commission.

Scaffolding has been erected around the unauthorized spa pool building at the home of Captain Sir Tom Moore's daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore, in preparation for its demolition.
Ingram-Moore and her husband lost an appeal against an order to remove the building, which must be demolished by February 7.
Planning permission had been granted for an L-shaped building in the grounds of the family home, but a subsequent retrospective application for a larger C-shaped building containing a spa pool was refused.
The foundation, named the Captain Tom Foundation Building, is under investigation by the Charity Commission over concerns about its management and independence from Sir Tom's family.
Sir Tom raised £38.9 million for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday during the first national Covid-19 lockdown in April 2020.
