Overview

• The Delhi High Court ordered on May 9 that encroachments along the Barapullah drain in Jangpura be cleared and that eligible Madrasi Camp residents be rehabilitated before demolition.
• On June 1, bulldozers supported by paramilitary forces and Delhi Police began dismantling about 370 shanties in Madrasi Camp to decongest the 16-kilometre drain ahead of the monsoon.
