• Delta will reduce 16% of departures at JFK and 19% at LaGuardia in January–February 2026 and about 10% in November–December 2025 and March–April 2026.
• All existing New York City routes will remain in the winter schedule but with up to 75 fewer peak-day trips in the deepest winter months.
• The FAA’s extension of the NYC slot utilization waiver through summer 2026 allows Delta to scale back frequencies without risking valuable slots.
• Delta cited soft domestic demand during the winter off-peak season as the primary driver for its schedule adjustments.
• Freed-up planes and crews are slated to be redeployed to higher-demand leisure markets such as Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico.
