The tragic incident occurred in April 2022, with the couple's child witnessing the event. Shawn Sturgeon was later found guilty of automobile homicide and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
The lawsuit alleges Delta's negligence in serving Shawn Sturgeon additional drinks on the flight, despite him being visibly intoxicated, contributed to the fatal accident.
Shawn Sturgeon reportedly has no memory of the incident due to his intoxication level, which was well above the legal limit.
