Delta Flight’s Wing Clips Empty Jet During Atlanta Gate Pushback

Passengers were rebooked on another jet following the collision, extending their journey to Guatemala City to more than six hours.

  • No injuries were reported among the 192 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants onboard the Guatemala City–bound flight.
  • Travelers were swiftly moved to a replacement plane, resulting in a roughly 30-minute departure delay.
  • The originally 3-hour, 23-minute trip stretched to 6 hours and 20 minutes, with the flight arriving at 3:01 p.m. local time.
  • Delta apologized for the incident, which marks the latest in a series of ground-handling and mechanical events challenging the airline this year.
