Overview

• Rustom Bhagwagar, 34, is accused of 24 felony counts including oral copulation, lewd acts and aggravated sexual assault of a child under ten.
• Prosecutors allege the victim was abused from ages six through eleven over a period of several years.
• Jennifer Powell, 45, the victim’s mother and Bhagwagar’s ex-girlfriend, is charged with knowing of and participating in her daughter’s abuse.
• Homeland Security Investigations and Contra Costa sheriff’s deputies secured a Ramey warrant in April and arrested Bhagwagar aboard Delta Flight 2809 when it landed at SFO on July 26.
• Both are held on $15 million bonds at Martinez Detention Facility pending hearings and Bhagwagar has been suspended by Delta, which says it will fully cooperate.
