Delta Air Lines Investigates Major Security Breach After Stowaway Reaches Paris

A Russian woman bypassed multiple security checkpoints at JFK Airport and boarded a Delta flight without a ticket, prompting investigations by TSA, Delta, and law enforcement.

The stowaway, identified as Svetlana Dali, managed to evade two identity verification checks and board Delta Flight 264 from New York to Paris without a boarding pass or passport.
Dali, a Russian national and U.S. green card holder, hid in the plane's bathrooms during takeoff and frequently moved between lavatories during the flight, raising suspicions among flight attendants.
Upon arrival in Paris, French authorities detained Dali as she lacked the necessary visa to enter the country; her asylum request in France was also denied.
A scheduled return flight to the U.S. was delayed when Dali caused a disturbance, leading to her removal from the aircraft and continued detention in France.
