Overview
- Andrea Delmastro testified on May 30 in Biella that he was outside the pro loco hall in Rosazza when he heard a loud bang and believed it to be a firecracker
- He told the court he did not see Emanuele Pozzolo holding or firing a weapon and found the gun already placed on a table upon reentering the room
- Delmastro recounted witnessing Luca Campana confront Pozzolo by asking “Why did you shoot me?” but did not tell the deputy he believed him innocent
- Pozzolo, formerly of Fratelli d’Italia and now an independent, faces charges of illegal firearm possession and wartime ammunition; the personal injury charge was dropped after the victim accepted compensation
- The next hearings are set for September to examine expert reports and October for Pozzolo’s own testimony as the trial continues
