Delhi’s Three-Day Mango Festival Concludes, Two-Day Chanakyapuri Celebration Announced

The municipal council will host a two-day mango festival in Chanakyapuri on July 5-6 to build on the success of the Thyagaraj Stadium showcase.

Overview

  • The three-day festival at Thyagaraj Stadium ended June 29 with strong visitor turnout and attractions including competitions and a live 'Mann Ki Baat' listening session.
  • Organized by the Delhi Tourism Department and inaugurated by CM Rekha Gupta, the event displayed more than 400 mango varieties and highlighted cultural heritage.
  • Farmers from states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal sold prized mangoes and related products directly to visitors, supported by free shuttle services from INA Metro.
  • Visitors enjoyed mango-eating contests, folk performances, a Kids Zone, a real mango orchard exhibit and a virtual appearance by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The New Delhi Municipal Council will offer free stalls and amenities to participants at the Chanakyapuri festival on July 5-6 to further promote India's mango heritage.
