Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan Chowk Renamed to Honor Tribal Leader Birsa Munda

The decision was made to inspire citizens and visitors with the legacy of Birsa Munda, a key figure in the Indian tribal freedom struggle.
A statue of Birsa Munda was unveiled in Delhi by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to commemorate the occasion.
Birsa Munda led the 'Ulgulan' rebellion against British rule and advocated for tribal rights in the Chotanagpur region.
November 15 is celebrated as 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' by the Indian government in honor of Birsa Munda's contributions.
