Delhi: NDMC to conduct cleanliness drive till May 9

Overview

  • NDMC completed its fourth phase of night-cleaning in Bengali Market, utilizing high-pressure wet cleaning and advanced equipment to enhance hygiene in key areas.
  • From May 5 to May 9, NDMC will conduct a Mega Sanitation Drive with all employees participating in daily ‘shramdaan’ for one hour before office hours.
  • NDMC has designated 14 heads of departments as nodal officers and provided extensive cleaning supplies, including brooms, garbage bags, gloves, and awareness materials, for the campaign.
  • MCD will launch its own citywide sanitation drive on May 5, focusing on cleaning streets, parks, schools, and residential areas with the involvement of councilors, RWAs, NGOs, and citizens.
  • Both initiatives align with the Swachh Bharat Mission and aim to improve cleanliness rankings while addressing issues like single-use plastic, unauthorized vendors, and public littering.
