Overview
- On August 13, the Airports Authority of India’s Aeronautical Information Services issued a NOTAM imposing time-limited curbs at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
- The restriction bars charter services and non-scheduled operations of commercial carriers from landing or taking off between 6 am–10 am and 4 pm–7 pm on August 15.
- Regular scheduled passenger flights will continue normal operations with no impact from the temporary curbs.
- Exemptions cover flights by the Indian Air Force, Border Security Force and Army aviation, as well as state-owned aircraft carrying the governor or chief minister, quick-response missions and urgent medical evacuations.
- IGI Airport manages roughly 1,300 daily movements, and the targeted windows are designed to strengthen security and streamline airspace management during national celebrations.
