Delhi’s CM SHRI Schools Draw 50,000+ Applications in Four Days as Entrance Test Set for Sept 6

The surge signals strong parent trust in a new network of NEP-aligned model campuses with advanced labs.

  • Admissions opened on August 15, with Education Minister Ashish Sood reporting more than 50,000 applications across classes 6 to 8.
  • Class-wise counts released by the Education Department show 14,928 applications for Class 6, 15,114 for Class 7, and 20,762 for Class 8.
  • The Directorate of Education set August 22 as the last date to apply, with the entrance exam for Classes 6–8 scheduled for September 6 after a date revision.
  • Sood pledged a transparent admissions process as the CM SHRI campuses roll out features such as AI-enabled libraries, AR/VR classrooms, smartboards, biometric attendance, and robotics labs aligned to NEP 2020 and NCF 2023.
  • The initiative carries a ₹100 crore allocation and follows recent notification of Delhi’s fee-transparency law after LG V.K. Saxena’s assent.
