Delhi Unveils MedLEaPR to Revolutionize Medico-Legal Reporting

Overview

  • MedLEaPR, developed by the National Informatics Centre, digitizes medico-legal and post-mortem reporting, replacing manual processes with secure electronic submissions.
  • The platform is fully integrated with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) for seamless data sharing among hospitals, police, forensic labs, and the judiciary.
  • As of May 1, 2025, MedLEaPR has been deployed in 28 hospitals, with 1,140 doctors registered and 1,276 cases processed, including 896 finalized reports and 380 under review.
  • Key features include a centralized secure database, strict user access controls, comprehensive audit trails, and e-signing functionality to ensure accountability and confidentiality.
  • The initiative aligns with Delhi’s commitment to Digital India and e-governance, aiming to streamline workflows, reduce delays, and improve coordination between healthcare and law enforcement.
