Overview
- The University of Delhi activated the CES 2026 portal and e-brochure this week, opening year-round registration so learners can apply to study selected papers alongside regular students.
- Candidates can register for up to two papers or eight credits per semester from the same discipline, and admission will be decided by eligibility, merit and available seats.
- CES seats are supernumerary and capped at a maximum of 10 percent of a class’s sanctioned strength or six seats, whichever is lower, so departments may fill only a few slots for external learners.
- The scheme is open to learners of any age including working professionals, alumni and senior citizens but excludes students already enrolled in a Delhi University programme and may require an employer No-Objection Certificate where applicable.
- Fees are reported at about Rs 6,100 per paper, participants follow the same class and evaluation rules as regular students, receive a certificate on passing, and credits are credited to their Academic Bank of Credits account.
