Delhi University Launches Comprehensive Anti-Ragging Protocol Ahead of Academic Session

Backed by UGC and Supreme Court directives, the initiative mandates parental and student undertakings, campus-wide vigilance teams, police pickets and new control rooms opening on August 1.

Overview

  • University of Delhi has publicized a zero-tolerance anti-ragging protocol to be enacted from August 1 as the 2025–26 session begins.
  • All incoming students and their parents or guardians must submit anti-ragging undertakings via the national portal at the time of admission.
  • Two joint control rooms—on North Campus and South Campus—will operate from August 1 to August 8 alongside police pickets, regular patrols and plain-clothes women officers to deter misconduct.
  • A multi-channel reporting network featuring the UGC’s 24×7 helpline, Proctor email, Anti-Ragging and Himmat apps, local complaint boxes and the VAMIKA campus vehicle has been mobilized for swift response.
  • Colleges and hostels must enforce restricted entry, form anti-ragging committees and NCC/NSS vigilance squads, observe Anti-Ragging Day on August 12 followed by a week of awareness and submit weekly then monthly compliance reports under UGC regulations.
