Delhi Trains 170 Officials From 15 Agencies in CAQM-Guided Complete Streets Dust-Abatement Push
The DPCC’s one-day workshop taught standard survey methods with DPR frameworks to embed dust control into road redesigns.
Overview
- The training brought together officers from 15 bodies including MCD, DDA, NDMC, PWD, NHAI, CPWD, DMRC, DJB, Delhi Police, BSES, TPDDL and IGL.
- Organised by the DPCC with the RaahGiri Foundation and guided by CAQM, the programme advances Delhi’s year-round anti-dust strategy.
- Sessions covered topographical and contour surveys, surface audits, utility mapping, vegetation and biodiversity surveys, and the preparation of DPRs aligned to CAQM benchmarks.
- The CAQM Resource Lab showcased best practices, introduced standard legends for design drawings, and will support NCR cities in replicating sustainable road redevelopment.
- Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa emphasized execution with a call to implement well, measure honestly and maintain consistently, as officials framed Complete Streets to also curb waste burning and vehicular emissions, with mock audits used to shape city-specific action frameworks.
